My Story

I grew up in Athens, Tennessee and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a degree in political science. After working for several years, I decided to pursue a career in law and attended the Appalachian School of Law in 2009. During my studies, I competed in national moot court competitions and clerked for the Knox County District Attorney during the summer. Upon passing the bar that same year, I immediately went to work representing people in the Knoxville area and surrounding counties.

After working at the Law Offices of Gary Dawson for several years, I opened my own practice in 2011. My primary focus is on serious criminal charges and personal injury cases, although I also represent clients in various civil and criminal matters across Tennessee and the Southeast. With 12 years of experience, I have developed the necessary skills to thoroughly investigate and prepare clients’ cases for the courtroom, and I have tried over 25 jury trials in both state and federal court.

To provide my clients the most comprehensive legal protection, I also draw upon an extensive network of experts and investigators. In addition, I take pride in helping people navigate through difficult times by providing compassionate and caring support inside and outside the courtroom. This has earned my peers’ respect and enabled me to build strong relationships with clerks, court personnel and bailiffs. Away from work, I am a member of several legal organizations, including the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
